Chris Hoare
Founder, CEO
Chris, originally from the UK started his career as a Geography Teacher after studying Physical Geography at the University of Sheffield and holds a Fellowship to the Royal Geographical Society in London. He then worked as a teacher and senior school leader in the UAE and now in Lima Peru. Chris has always had a passion for Exploration and has worked as an expedition Leader and Head of Education for a large expedition company focusing on responsible travel, sustainability and service learning. Chris now lives in Lima with Valeria and Simba the dog.
Valeria Paliza
Co-founder
Valeria, a proud Cusquena , grew up in the City of Cusco with her family and moved to Lima as a teenager, a creative and passionate social media influencer, Valeria studied Business Administration at Pacifico University in Lima. After a short period working in the corporate marketing world, Valeria, ditched the 9-5 in pursuit of her own business. After setting up and running a successful shoe business, focusing on making handcrafted shoes using Peruvian maestros, Valeria wanted to help share the magic and wonder of Peru with those around the world. She now also lives in Lima with Chris and Simba the dog.

In 2023, Valeria took her then boyfriend, Chris, to her family home in Urquillos, Sacred Valley Peru. Chris fell in love with the village, the people, the culture and the heritage of the region. To both Valeria and Chris, Cusco has a place deep in their hearts, a place of adventure, solitude, magic and tranquility. Over the coming years Chris and Valeria realized that the tourism industry in Cusco was one that focused on enhancing the local and national economy of Peru , necessary for Peruvians, but it did not necessarily focus on sharing and preserving its unique heritage and magic. Therefore in 2024, Expedition Peru was born with the aim of providing travellers with opportunities to explore the wonders of Peru in an authentic, magical and sustainable way, that showcases the wonder that Chris experienced with Valeria’s family on his first visit to the Sacred Valley.
