It is with great pleasure that we launch Expedition Peru, travel agency and consultancy on the 1st May 2025.

Peru was always a country far away in the depth of South America. A country which I knew about, but that was all. The home of Machu Picchu and Guinea Pigs. This mysterious country was a complete unknown. That was 2 years ago when I decided to risk everything and move here for work.
I was living in Dubai at the time, working in a large British Private School. I loved travel and was doing some work for a School Expedition Company as an Expedition Leader. This work took me on my first adventure to Latin America, to Ecuador and Costa Rica. Whilst on this trip, I stumbled across a job in a school in Lima whilst on a 10 hour bus journey across the Costa Rican Jungle. I applied. 1 year later, there I was, arriving into Lima airport with a new life ahead of me. Didn’t speak Spanish, didn’t know anything. Little did I know that this was the start of the greatest adventure of my life.
Exploring Peru-
My first year in Peru was busy. I travelled everywhere. Every weekend off, I went exploring, high into the Andes, into the jungle and into the deserts. The variety of landscapes and ecosystems in Peru was remarkable. The food, the people, the culture and the environment had captured me. From my first visit to Cusco and Machu Picchu, I knew I loved this place. But travelling here wasn’t easy.

It wasn’t until I started travelling with Valeria I really started to understand this magical place. Tourism in Peru is such a new industry, where people are doing everything they can to earn a few dollars. This, combined with a challenging political situation, high altitudes and a language barrier, you need to be a seasoned and confident traveller to really see Peru. This is why Expedition Peru was born. I found during my early travels throughout Peru the ‘Gringo tax’ was a thing. I was paying well over the odds for tickets, excursions and entrance fees, that gave me a shallow view of the magin Peru had to offer.
Thanks to my fiancée Valeria, who is from Cusco, the real Peru opened up to me. From our first trip to Cusco together in October 2023, we started to explore wonders of this incredible country. We then made it our mission to find the best experiences, the most interesting museums and the most authentic accommodation and adventures.

The adventures got bigger and bigger, from days spent in the Scared Valley learning from her Grandmother and Grandfather to exploring off the beaten track. The adventures got more bold, more ambitions and at times more questionable! But the learning we encountered was second to none. We found places nobody had heard of. We stayed in towns that were not even on the map. We were unveiling the heritage, culture and wonders of Peru that no guide book would ever tell you. And that is where Expedition Peru was born.
Together we thought, this is the Peru people need to see. These are the experiences that need to be shared, in an authentic, sustainable and adventurous manner. However, a key part of this story is missing. Whilst I am describing the off the beaten track adventures Valeria and I have had, I make it sound like we explored in the most basic and ‘roughing it’ way possible. This is not true. Whilst I will happily stay in a tent on the side of a mountain, Valeria, likes her home comforts. So whilst all of these adventures were ‘extreme’ Valeria kept them comfortable. Valeria provided the balance of adventure with comfort and even at times a touch of luxury. This is basis of Expedition Peru.
We decided that we should use our experience and knowledge of travel, expeditions and Peru to help other people define their own version of an expedition here in Peru. For those who want a 5 day high altitude trek to Machu Picchu or for those who want a luxurious stay in an Inca Ruin, we have done it. Now we want to share this with you.
